Up for auction is a rare Fender Jaguar Bottom Master baritone electric guitar. These rare guitars, kind of a cross between a Fender Jaguar and Fender Bass VI, were made in Japan for the Japanese market only and are very hard to find outside of that country as they were produced in extremely limited numbers. It's a direct descendant of the Fender Bass VI guitar (it's tuned E-E, one octave lower than a standard guitar) although the scale length is 28.5" compared to the Bass VI's 30" scale length. Having owned both the Bass VI and this guitar I have to say that there's not much difference in the playability and the extra 1.5" is not really a factor. The Bottom Master features a fixed bridge which (in my opinion) improves on the floating bridge/tremolo of the Bass VI. These guitars were also released in the US for a short time as the Fender Jaguar Bass VI/Jaguar Baritone Custom although this guitar has a few different features. Namely, the top control panel has a switch for a built in Fuzz/Octave effect along w/ separate Tone & Volume controls for it. The switching on the bottom panel is the same as a regular Fender Jaguar w/ switches for each pickup and a switch for a high pass filter. The high pass filter switch is very subtle when playing normally, but when the fuzz/octave circuit is engaged it can create a dramatic effect from a thinner sounding fuzz to a deeper, richer, snarlier fuzz tone. The Fuzz/Octave circuit requires a 9V battery for use with the access for the battery located on the back of the guitar.
That said, the guitar plays perfectly and is in excellent condition! The only flaws I could find where just a couple of small dings near the back strap button which were too small and hard to capture in a picture. I doubt that you'd find one any cleaner than this. The previous owner of the guitar upgraded the bridge to a Fender Mustang bridge (and chrome bridge cover), which is a common (and highly recommended) mod for all Jaguars & Jazzmasters, as it holds the strings better and provides better sustain. Sorry, unfortunately I do not have the original bridge, but if for some reason you wanted to return it back to "stock" I have seen replacement bridges for these guitars here on Ebay. Included with the guitar is the original Fender padded gig bag as well the original owner's manual and what I believe to be the warranty card (both are in Japanese).

This is a very rare guitar and I'm in no hurry to see it go as it really is quite fun to play. Best offer wins it though, but please don't waste my time w/ any low ball offers, these will be ignored. Please ask any and all questions before placing your bid and I will reply to you in a timely manner.
